About the Journal
Ars æqui is a peer-reviewed academic journal of the Faculty of Law and Administrative Sciences, Ovidius University of Constanța, Romania. It publishes original, high-quality contributions from scholars and practitioners on contemporary issues of legal doctrine and practice, as well as case law commentaries and book reviews. The journal encourages diverse methodological approaches, from natural law and legal history to comparative law and law in context. It also welcomes interdisciplinary research that bridges law and governance, engaging with questions of public administration, economics, sociology, and political science. In this way, Ars æqui seeks a deeper understanding of how law and governance shape and are shaped by society in the legal systems of Romania, the broader CEE region, and beyond.

Current Issue
Vol. 16 No. 1 (2026): Integration of Digitalisation into Legal Relationships. Challenges, Controversies, Solutions
This issue of Ars æqui marks the 1st Conference of the newly-established Doctoral School of Law at the Ovidius University of Constanța, The Integration of Digitalisation in Legal Relationships. Challenges, Controversies, Solutions (29 May 2026), and gathers most of the papers presented there by doctoral candidates from Constanța and other Romanian universities. Most contributions explore the overarching theme across areas such as civil enforcement, employment, corporate governance, and forensic evidence, while a few papers extend beyond. The Studies and Articles section also carries an additional contribution on electoral and referendum arrangements in Lithuania and Poland. The issue closes with a Commentaries section featuring a case note on credit-agreement enforcement limitation periods, as well as a policy brief arising from COST Action CA22106 – Migrant Disaster Victim Identification (MDVI).
